Justice and Mercy Without True Humility

"If Christians were content with doing justly and loving mercy, but would cease walking humbly with God [Micah 6:8], they might go through the world, not only in peace, but with applause; but he that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12). Such a life reproves the ungodliness of men and provokes their resentment."
~ Arthur Pink, "The Beatitudes"

The key is  humility before God. Most who claim Jesus' name have no humility before God. They have "no fear of God before their eyes" (Rom. 3:18). Therefore social justice without true humility before the Holy One of Israel who demands we be holy as He is holy, is nothing but fake humility. That is to say, it is pride. A form of godliness without His power and Spirit (2 Tim. 3:5).
